A representative confirmed that rapper Takeoff, best known as one-third of the hip-hop duo Migos, was shot and died early on Tuesday. A disagreement over a dice game started a shooting that killed the Grammy-nominated hitmaker, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, during a private party at 810 Billiards & Bowling in downtown Houston, according to TMZ. He was 28 years old.

The rapper’s passing was verified to the Associated Press by a rep who was not authorized to speak in public. After some witnesses reported hearing shooting from the balcony, Houston Police and fire personnel arrived on the area at around 2:40 in the morning.

Police Houston Chronicle was informed by Lt. Ronnie Wilkins said: “A lot of folks were there,”

“They were in front of the bar. The bar was closed at the time, but people were congregating out on the balcony area. Everybody fled.”

His mother raised him in Lawrenceville, Georgia, along with family members Quavo and Offset.

According to video obtained by TMZ, Takeoff was lying on the ground and was surrounded by fellow Migos member Quavo, 31, and other people. According to the video, the gang attempted to raise his body before setting him down again and shouting for assistance.

According to authorities, the individual was declared deceased at the spot. Unknown conditions were used to transport two more victims in private automobiles to local hospitals.

The victims’ identities were not made public by the police, although they did say that the deceased was a male in his late 20s. There have been no detentions. Arrington said: “If this does turn out to be a high-profile case, we want to make sure justice is found for the people involved, not just the person who was (fatally) shot, but everyone else who’s at the hospital right now,”
